Larry often serves as technical lead on the cases on which he works. He develops litigation strategies, conducts discovery, performs infringement analyses, evaluates prior art, and interfaces with fact and expert witnesses. Larry has recently represented and counseled clients in matters relating to software, firmware, operating systems, networks and network security, encryption, smart phone technology, wireless devices, microprocessor architecture, memories, storage systems, video compression, and semiconductor fabrication.

Larry focuses on patent litigation, appellate practice, and International Trade Commission (ITC) proceedings. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants and has significant experience working with and contributing to the work of joint defense groups.

Larry also works in the area of IP portfolio development and monetization. His experience includes steering the development of intellectual property portfolios and evaluating patent portfolios for transfer. He has negotiated settlements, technology transfer transactions, licenses, and supply agreements.

Larry worked as a patent litigator at large IP firms including Howrey & Simon, Brobeck Phleger & Harrison, and Fish & Richardson.

Prior to law school, Larry worked as an electronics design engineer and programmer.

Broadband iTV, Inc. v. AT&T, DirecTV, Dish Network LLC (Western District of Texas) Represent pioneering video on demand and content management technology company, BBiTV, in three consolidated 5-patent cases filed in December 2019.
OpenTV, Inc. v. NFL Enterprises, LLC.  Represented OpenTV in a seven patent case involving verifying PIN codes giving users access to password-restricted websites, methods of inserting content into video streams using time-code indicators, methods of allowing users to interact with videos, a method of connecting multiple video metadata sets, methods that allow software to confirm that a computer has the applications needed to decode certain media, methods of combining multiple media data streams into a single broadcast stream, and methods of associating streaming videos with websites via a link.
Intellectual Ventures II v. Motorola Mobility (Southern District of Florida)  Represented Intellectual Ventures in patent infringement matter regarding smart phone technologies including MMS messaging, docking stations, power allocation, and power conservation.
Parthenon Unified Memory Architecture v. Apple (Eastern District of Texas) Represented Apple in a patent case involving memory architecture and video coding technology.
DSS Technology Management, Inc. v. Apple (Northern District of California) Represented Apple in a patent case involving Bluetooth technology.
Intellectual Ventures II v. Capital One (District of Maryland)  Represented Intellectual Ventures II against Capital One in a patent case involving banking security measures.
Enova v. Seagate (District of Delaware) Represented Enova against Seagate in a patent infringement case involving hard disk encryption.
